Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Last updated: 19 September 2026

BulletPins ("we", "our") is a service for pinning places and photos on a map, or posting moments to a shared board, built and operated by GS-Apps (Giorgos Skondras), acting as the data controller for the personal data described below. This page explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who this is for

BulletPins is often used by teachers and students to share travel photos and locations, but anyone can create an account and a board. Boards may contain photos of people, including minors, uploaded by the board owner, invited members, or anyone using a shared invite link. If you are a teacher or parent setting up a board involving students, you are responsible for having the appropriate consent from students or their guardians before photos are uploaded.

2. What we collect

3. Photos and location metadata

Every photo you upload is re-encoded in your browser before it ever reaches our servers. As part of that process, the original file's embedded metadata — including GPS coordinates, camera details, and timestamps (EXIF data) — is stripped and never transmitted or stored. Any location you see on a map comes only from where you or a contributor deliberately placed a pin, never from a photo's hidden location data.

4. Why we process this data

We process the data above to operate the core service: authenticating you, storing and displaying your boards, and enabling the sharing features (invite codes, roles, view-only links) you configure yourself. This is done on the basis of performing the service you've asked for by creating an account or board, or, for people you invite, on the basis of the legitimate interest of running a shared board they've been given access to.

5. Who else handles this data

We don't sell or share your data with advertisers. To run the service, we rely on the following processors, each bound by their own data-processing terms:

6. How long we keep data

Boards, pins, posts, and photos are kept until you or the board owner delete them, or until the account is deleted. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes whether or not they're used; sessions expire automatically after 30 days.

7. Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. In practice, on BulletPins:

To exercise any right not covered by the in-app tools above, contact us using the details below.

8. Children's data

BulletPins itself is intended for use by teachers, parents, and other adults setting up and managing boards. We don't knowingly collect account sign-ups from children. Photos of minors may appear as board content added by an adult who is responsible for having obtained appropriate consent beforehand.

9. Security

Access to boards is controlled by sign-in, role (owner/editor/viewer), and per-board codes. A board owner can lock a board to freeze further changes. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't upload anything you wouldn't want seen by someone who obtains a share link.

10. Terms of use

By using BulletPins you agree to use it lawfully, not to upload content you don't have the right to share, and to be responsible for any content added under an invite or view link you distribute. The service is provided "as is"; we aim for reliability but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

12. Contact

For any privacy question or to exercise a right not covered above, contact GS-Apps (Giorgos Skondras) at the email address associated with your BulletPins account communications.
